OMG the homemade manicotti is amazing! Great service, good prices. Each dish is made-to-order, so takes a few minutes. But well with the wait!

The pizza is one of the best in town. Thin crust with lots of flavor and just the right amount of everything!

I don't know about the best, but the pie was damn good. Large in size as well. The classic club was nice and fresh, but the fries were a bit bland. Overall a decent meal in a small place in south bend.

We just love the plain cheese pizza. This is the only place we get a cheese pizza. I guess other places need toppings for flavor.

Stopped by on the way to the airport to kill some time. Awesome lasagna!! I'm guessing the pizza would be great, since the sauce was so delicious. No bar, but good beer on tap...domestic beers along with a couple of local pale ales. Appears to be family owned... Can't go wrong! I will be back in a couple weeks. Oh, the Italian wedding soup was great too!

What a surprise! Might not stop as if not recommended. Our desk clerck at nearby hotel rec'd and she was right. Great Italian food, friendly staff. The Italian sauage dinner as was the Alfredo. Reasonable price ($80/5people). Highly recommend.

Was in town for business and just wanted a quick salad. The Greek salad fit the bill. The menu looked pretty good and if it wasn't already getting late I might have tackled some more hearty fare.

Volcano is one of those places you tend to forget about unless you happen to be driving out by the airport. It's probably been a good 7-8 years since I have been there, but a co-worker suggested it for lunch today. The place was full, but we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server immediately took our drink order while we looked over the menu. There is a large selection of Italian subs, salads and pastas. The menu says that their bakery bread is delivered fresh each day. I was originally thinking a salad - the Greek and Italian salads sounded great, but opted for the meatball sub. The sub was huge with three very tender, homemade meatballs. The sauce was fresh and tasted great. It was covered in melted mozarrella on a huge sub roll...definitely needed a fork and knife! It was also served with a side of fries, which made for a huge meal for just $7.50. My co-worked opted for the canneloni florentine special which came with a side salad for $7.98 (usually $12.75 according to the menu). I didn't try it, but it looked great and she enjoyed it. Service was great - attentive and friendly. I will definitely make plans to go back and try one of the salads next time.

The Volcano Restaurant is located just east of the South Bend airport. I've taken people from all over the country to lunch there for years and have never had a bad experience. It can get pretty busy there at peak times, but I have never had to wait for a table. There is outdoor seating as well in the warmer months. They catered several events for us and people raved about the food. The Italian salad is always a favorite.

Good food and great service! We went on a Sunday afternoon just after opening, so it wasn't real busy, our waitress was very nice. There was a little bit of a wait on the food, but it was well worth it!

We flew in from Colorado and we were looking for a good local place to eat. Some old friends recommended the Volcano Restaurant. I was a little skeptical when we drove up, but my doubt was gone after ordering our family ordered the pizza and I had the lasagna. I would highly recommend either. It is close to the airport, so it is a good spot to hit either heading to the airport, or just arriving.

Excellent service. Found this on Yelp while driving through the area, decided to give it a try. Really glad we did. Worth the drive off the highway. Excellent sandwiches for lunch, very fresh, good quality bread, quick coming out of the kitchen. Good for kids, very clean bathrooms. Would stop here again anytime. Just an all-around great find.

Volcano is a great family oriented restaurant on the west side of South Bend. Their prices are reasonable, and even better on nights when Spaghetti is on special. They have a short, but nicely selected tap list and a wine list to fit all meals on the menu. A solid place for lunch or dinner.
